The Prix Aurora Awards are given out annually to honour the best Canadian science fiction and fantasy literary works, artwork, and fan activities from the previous year. The awards are given out by the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association (CSFFA). Check out the website for the full list of winners.

We congratulate the winners of the 2014 Prix Aurora Awards:

Best English Novel:

A Turn of Light by Julie E. Czerneda

“A young woman trapped between two worlds must risk everything to save both in Czerneda's charming character-driven fantasy of rich magic, multilayered characters, and dangerous choices.”

Best English YA Novel:

The Rising by Kelley Armstrong

“Hunted by two powerful Cabals and quickly running out of places to hide, Maya and her friends - all of whom have supernatural powers - search for answers as to why they're so valuable and why their powers are becoming so hard to control.”

And non-literary, but a personal favourite:

Best Fan Music: Chris Hadfield for his performance of Space Oddity . I love it!
