The Halifax Word on the Street Festival is Happening Today

Today is a great day for HRM book lovers. The annual Word on the Street Festival takes place on the Halifax Waterfront. A free event for all ages and persuasions.

There will all kinds of author readings, book sales and signings, boat rides, contests and even cooking demos at the Cooks and Books event, featuring Ted Reader, Liz Feltham, Michael Howell and Craig Flynn.

The freshly announced One Book Nova Scotia author, Leo McKay Jr., will be on site to deliver a reading and sign copies of his awesome book, Twenty-six.

There will also be a Pitch the Publisher event, the first meeting of the CBC-TD Kids Bookclub, readings on the HMCS Sackville, a Literacy Celebration - featuring David Adams Richards, and so much more...

And drop by the Halifax Public Library booth to say hello and for a chance to win baskets of books, supper for two at jane's on the commons, or a family package of tickets to see the Wiggles.

I hope to see you there!
