Literary World Cup - Part I

"Brazil eats, sleeps and drinks football. It lives football!" - Pele

Halifax Public Libraries' collection is so diverse that we have books to represent each soccer team in the ‪2014 FIFA ‎World Cup in Brazil! So we decided to have our own ‎Literary World Cup matchups with titles from our Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Multilingual collections.

The first match ‪Brazil vs Croatia is represented by:

El alquimista : una fàbula para seguir tus sueños by Paulo Coelho

Rise in the fall by Ana Božičević

Cameroon vs Mexico:

The King and the Tortoise by Tololwa M. Mollel

Arrebatos carnales by Francisco Martín Moreno

Spain  vs Netherlands :

Don Quijote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes

DeKok and the sorrowing tomcat by A.C. Baantjer

De Cock en de treurende kater by A.C. Baantjer

Chile vs Australia :

All the Odes by Pablo Neruda

Eyrie by Tim Winton
