Adrenaline Fiction - Get Your Heart Pumping

Looking for some action in your summer reading? Adrenaline fiction is a fast-paced roller coaster ride reading experience. The plots are cinematic and you can usually picture the action as it unfolds. There is suspense, danger and a feeling of foreboding. Your main character is usually likable and engaging.

This brings to mind Stone Barrington (of Loitering With Intent by Stuart Woods, plus many others). He's a bit a rogue and a bad boy, but he is certainly both smooth-talking and charming. And, oh yes, it can be grisly. Picture John Corey in Plum Island by Nelson Demille and his awesome disemboweling scene. Adrenaline fiction is not limited to a certain time or a particular place, or even just one genre. It can be a mystery or a thriller or an adventure novel. You can get the same reading experience with non-fiction. The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger and Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer are examples of real events that are as fantastic as fiction.

Get your heart pumping with some of these adrenaline fueled writers: Harlan Coben, Matthew Reilly, Michael Crichton, Suzanne Brockmann, Clive Cussler, Jeff Abbott, Bernard Cornwell and Simon Scarrow .
