Erika Ritter author reading

Acclaimed Canadian author and CBC radio host Erika Ritter will be reading from her latest book, The Dog by the Cradle, the Serpent Beneath, at the Keshen Goodman branch of the Halifax Public Libraries on Wednesday March 11th, 7:00 pm.

All are welcome. (special thanks to co-sponsor Canada Council for the Arts).

Ritter's latest work delves into people's relationships with the animals all around us. From the family pet, to work animals, to strays, all the way to the butcher shop. These are complex relationships, with many contradictions and surprises.

I always enjoy these type of books, ones that offer me insight into the minds and habits of animals.

Most recently I read and thoroughly enjoyed, The Black Grizzly of Whiskey Creek , by Sid Marty.

For similar minded readers, here are just a few of the more recent human-animal relationships books available at the library:

Good Dog. Stay, by Anna Quidlen
